One person was killed and another one was injured in a Union City traffic crash, police said. According to the crash report, the two-vehicle accident occurred at about 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd, on Interstate 85 North.
The police said a black Ford F-150 driver rammed into a guardrail and crashed a barrier wall after losing control of the car. A silver Nissan Altima then slammed into the Ford F-150 shortly after.
One of the occupants of the Ford, identified as 26-year-old Jermarcus J. Godfrey, died instantly while the driver of the Nissan Altima survived unhurt. The police said an unidentified victim sustained some injuries.
The accident scene was subsequently shut for some hours, with traffic redirected to enable officers to conclude their preliminary investigation.. The inquiry into the Union City traffic crash remains ongoing.
