The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) investigates a Canton Road auto-motorcycle collision that caused severe injuries to Lester Keller, 46, of Canton. A press release by the agency on Monday, December 14th, placed the time of the occurrence at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 11th.
The collision took place at the intersection of Canton Road and Kurtz Road. The investigators said the crash involved a red 2020 Kia Niro and a black 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle. They revealed that the Kia was trying to turn left from Kurtz onto northbound Canton.
Simultaneously, the motorcycle was in the left lane of southbound Canton. The release disclosed that the Kia failed to yield to the Harley Davidson, and the bike’s front tire struck the vehicle’s driver’s side.
The crash ejected Keller, who drove the motorcycle, causing him to vault over the top of the Kia. The bike rested southwest of the car. Medics rushed the man to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
The Kia driver, identified as 67-year-old Brent Heath of Marietta, was uninjured. There is no additional information on Canton Road auto-motorcycle collision available at this moment.
