Concept photo: Fiery car accident in Atlanta kills one

One person died in a fiery car accident in Atlanta, Georgia. The collision happened during the early hours of New Year’s Day, January 1st. The cause of the crash is not known at the time of this report.

The vehicle driver involved in the crash died, while a passenger trapped in the burning car had to be extricated. The incident happened on the on-ramp leading from Ga. 400 to Interstate 85 South. When the Atlanta Police Department officers got to the scene, they found a Toyota Scion engulfed in flames.

The police said the driver was already dead when they arrived and did not release their name. The preliminary inquiry showed that the Toyota struck a concrete barrier wall as it traveled on the on-ramp. It was merging onto Interstate 85 South. The collision made the car flip and it went up in flames.

The APD credited employees from Central EMS, a Roswell ambulance service, with the rescue of the passenger. They conveyed the passenger who remains unidentified to a hospital in stable condition. The investigation into the fiery car accident in Atlanta is ongoing, headed by the APD Accident Investigation Unit.

Motor vehicle accidents occur when motorists least expect it and leave behind devastating consequences. However, they are preventable, especially when all road users follow traffic rules and do what’s expected. Thus, a driver who disobeys traffic law and commits an act that results in a crash will be deemed the fault party.

If the act injured another person, they owe them compensation. The law is the same for emotional injuries and for property or vehicle damage. An experienced Georgia car accident lawyer can help accident victims get maximum compensation. Contact Calvin Smith Law if you want financial settlements for a crash caused by a negligent driver.
