Bibb County recorded another fatality as the female victim of an Eisenhower Parkway collision succumbed to her injuries. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office revealed the victim passed away on Tuesday, October 26th. The Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced 84-year-old Tilda Wilson of Byron dead at Atrium Health Navicent.
The sheriff’s office already notified the next-of-kin. In a press release, the BCSO said the accident happened on Eisenhower Parkway at Interstate 475 northbound just after 2 p.m. The investigators said a Chevy Cobalt driven by Wilson was eastbound on Eisenhower Parkway.
The car was making a left turn onto Interstate 475 northbound ramp when a Ford Mustang struck it. The Mustang, driven by a 35-year-old man of Fort Valley, was eastbound on Eisenhower Parkway when he struck the victim’s car. Medics then conveyed Wilson to Atrium Health for treatment.
The Mustang driver also received treatment at the same hospital for minor injuries. The sheriff’s office said no charges had been filed as the collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the Eisenhower Parkway collision should contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
Motor vehicle accidents are quite common in Georgia and have devastating consequences. While some people survive crashes, others lose their lives. An accident survivor under Georgia law can file a compensation claim against the fault party through an insurance claim or a personal injury lawsuit.
If the claim succeeds, the fault party will pay economic and non-economic damages to the victim. The compensation aims to return the party to the status they were in before the accident. Unfortunately, the claims process is not as easy as it appears, hence, the need for an attorney.
