A traffic collision on Outer Loop 10 in Athens-Clarke County claimed one life. The two-vehicle accident happened on Wednesday morning, September 1st. The cause of the accident is unknown at the time of this report.
According to the Athens-Clarke Police Department, the collision on Outer Loop 10 occurred precisely on the Milledge Avenue overpass of GA Outer Loop 10. The investigators said that at about 7:20 a.m., a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Ford Taurus collided while traveling in the same direction on the Loop.
The impact caused the Tahoe to flip and land on its roof. The driver, 50-year-old Dianna Brown, died from injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the Taurus suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and medics conveyed him to the hospital for treatment.
The police said this was the 15th fatal motor vehicle crash in Athens in 2021. Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact the Athens-Clarke Police Department.
