One person died, and another sustained injuries in a single-car accident on Bibb County Interstate 75. The collision happened on Wednesday afternoon, July 28th. There is currently no information on the cause of the accident on Bibb County Interstate 75.
In a press release, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at about 2:09 p.m. near the Eisenhower Parkway. The investigators stated that 25-year-old Darius Riley drove a Chevrolet SUV on the southbound lane of the interstate. Just before the Eisenhower ramp, the victim’s vehicle went off the roadway and collided with a concrete barrier.
The crash’s impact ejected Riley from the car, and medics took him to Atrium Health Navicent, where he succumbed to his injuries. Bibb County Coroner Leon James said he already notified the victim’s next-of-kin. The sheriff’s office said a 22-year-old female passenger suffered injuries, and medics took her to the same hospital for treatment. She was in stable condition at the time of the release.
