Traffic Collision in Bartow County Injures One

One person suffered injuries after getting ejected during a traffic collision in Bartow County. The accident happened on Friday morning, May 21st. A news report disclosed that a vehicle overturned after striking two semi-trucks.

The report further disclosed that a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol responded to the traffic collision in Bartow County on Interstate 75 North at Mile Marker 301 at about 11:45 a.m. The preliminary investigation uncovered that a white Kia Soul with two people inside was traveling north.

The vehicle approached a semi-truck that was moving slowly. The troopers said the Kia driver followed the semi too closely and struck the trailer’s left side. Following the impact, the Kia turned clockwise and hit a second semi-truck.

The Kia went under the semi-trailer and got struck by the vehicle’s undercarriage and rear-wheel tandems. The car overturned, rolled over, and ejected the passenger. The GSP said medics took the ejected passenger to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at Cartersville Medical Center. The troopers said that the first semi-truck struck in the rear kept going after the collision. Charges are forthcoming against the Kia driver.
