Local police had their hands full this past weekend with a multi-car crash as well as a hit and run accident in Sandy Springs.
On Sunday, May 10, the police got a call from a witness who saw a multi-vehicle crash on GA 400 North. A black vehicle crashed into two separate cars in the Northbound lanes of GA 400 near the North Springs MARTA station.
One of the cars hit was a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. The car was totally disabled. The driver of the car and their 2 passengers got out of the car to assess the damage. A Good Samaritan passing by stopped to render aid. They encouraged the three to get in their car to wait for the police. This way, he figured, they’d be safe from other motorists.
The two passengers managed to climb inside the Good Samaritan’s car. Before the driver could climb in, a woman driving a 2006 Toyota Sienna came along and ran them over. The truck was speeding at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota stayed in their SUV while their passenger, who was critically injured, got out of the car. The driver actually took off, leaving their friend injured and the driver of the Hyundai dead in the middle of the road.
The police have identified the driver of the Elantra as 23-year old Orlando St. Louis of Roswell, Georgia.
The driver of the hit and run vehicle has been identified as 31-year old Kiara Stinner of Brunswick, Georgia. She is still at large and the police are asking for the public’s help in locating her. She’s since been charged with a host of offenses including vehicular homicide, reckless driving and driving while suspended.
