Mikayla Swinson was born in Augusta, Georgia, and raised in Columbus, Georgia. She attended Georgia State University for her undergraduate education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in African American Studies.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Mikayla attended the University of Tennessee
College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree to practice law. During law school, she received a CALI Award for Trial Practice and competed on the mock trial team. She also
gained valuable experience through her work as a student attorney in the Domestic Violence
Legal Clinic and the Family Mediation Legal Clinic, as well as through an externship with East
Tennessee Children’s Hospital. These experiences strengthened her commitment to advocacy and serving individuals during challenging times.
Since joining W. Calvin Smith, II, P.C., Mikayla has specialized in personal injury and workers’
compensation law. She is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, health and wellness, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
