Esther Albert was born in Cap-Haiten, Haiti. She was raised with her 5 siblings in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She attended the University of Florida (Go Gators), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a minor in African-American Studies.

After graduating from the University of Florida with honors, Esther joined the Metro Atlanta Corps of Teach for America. She taught First Grade at Indian Creek Elementary School in Clarkston, Georgia.

After serving in Teach for America, Esther moved to Washington, D.C., to attend Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown Law, Esther worked in the Counsel for Child Abuse and Neglect Office. She also served as an editor for The Georgetown University Law Center Immigration Journal. During the summer she was a legal clerk for the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia, (ACLU of Georgia), and a summer associate at Alston & Bird, LLP.  Esther worked in the legal department of the D.C. Public Charter School Board before joining The Law Office of W. Calvin Smith as an associate.

Esther is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Projects for Haiti, a non-profit organization.

Esther enjoys spending time with her two chiweenie dogs named Maui and Reggie!
